What is Wifi-Direct?
WiFi Direct allows devices in a wireless network to connect to each other without having to go through a wireless router. Similar in principle to Bluetooth technology, this standard allows wireless devices to be connected point-to-point. More importantly, WiFi Direct technology allows a WiFi device to establish multiple wireless connections at the same time, which is the most critical technology for many new forms of WiFi applications.
WiFi Direct is a P2P wireless interconnection technology, and the network established by it is an improved adhoc network, which adopts wireless communication mode and WiFi network mode: Infrastructure Mode and Ad Hoc Mode, WiFi Direct mainly solve the connection problem of the physical layer, including device discovery and service discovery. Related technologies include NFC and DLNA.
